The idea of substituting a hubcap for a hat sounded absurd. But the more I thought about it, it just might work, provided the hubcap was interesting. As long as we’re not dealing in reality, even more interesting might be the use of mannequins. The look, hair, and pose could bevery intriguing. I might add that I was very much inspired by the great hat designer,Stephen Jones. Many hubcap/mannequin combinations were not destined to be. However, to my eye, these not only work, they create a strange, visual fashion statement.
